As customer needs and standards drive the production system, the company must define quality as it is seen by users of the product. The customer's definition of quality then must be interpreted by engineers and production managers............ Many companies implementing Six-Sigma has taken a TQM approach, System that empowers employee, Drives higher profit, Drives lower cost, Management centered approach to improving quality....... Total quality is a description of the attitude, culture and organization of a company that strives to provide customers with products and services that satisfy their needs. The culture mandates quality in all aspects of the company's operations, with processes being done right the first time every time and defects and waste eradicated from operations........... The term TQM has been coined to describe a philosophy that makes quality the driving force behind leadership, design, planning and improvement initiatives. For this, the organization needs to concentrate on eight key elements-ethics, integrity, trust, leadership, teamwork, training, communication and recognition as shown................
